Headache is a common condition that many people experience on a daily basis. From uncomfortable to downright unbearable, they can disrupt your day-to-day life.
Many types of headaches exist, of which tension headache is the most common. Cluster headaches are painful and occur in groups or “groups”, while migraine is a moderate to severe type of headache. Although many drugs are targeted to relieve symptoms of headaches, several effective, natural remedies also exist.
You may have a headache due to insufficient hydration.
In fact, studies have shown that chronic dehydration is a common cause of tension headaches and migraines. Thankfully, drinking water has been shown to relieve headache symptoms in most dehydrated individuals within 30 minutes to three hours.
What’s more, being dehydrated can spoil concentration and cause irritability, which can make your symptoms worse.
To help avoid dehydration headaches, focus on drinking enough water throughout the day and eating water-rich food.
If you have a tension headache, place a heating pad on the back of your neck or your head. If you have a sinus headache, place a warm cloth over the painful area. A hot bath may also do the trick.
Reduce Pressure From Head

Get Enough Sleep
Lack of sleep can be harmful to your health in many ways, and may even cause headaches in some people.
For example, one study compared the frequency of headaches and the severity of people who got less than six hours of sleep per night and those who slept longer. It found that those who had less sleep had frequent and severe headaches.
However, getting too much sleep has also been shown to trigger headaches, which can provide a reasonable amount of rest to prevent natural headaches.
For maximum benefit, aim for a “sweet spot” of seven to nine hours of sleep per night.
Use Essential Oils
Essential oils are highly concentrated liquids that contain aromatic compounds from a wide variety of plants.

Peppermint and lavender essential oils are especially helpful when you have a headache.

Doing yoga can help reduce the intensity and frequency of your headaches.
A study investigated the effects of yoga therapy on 60 people with chronic migraines. The frequency and intensity of headaches were reduced in those receiving both yoga therapy and traditional care compared to those receiving traditional medicine alone.
Another study found that people who practiced yoga for three months had a significant reduction in headache frequency, severity, and related symptoms compared to those who did not practice yoga.
Get Some Caffeine
Take some caffeine tea, coffee or something else. If you start it early, it can reduce your headache pain. This over-the-counter pain reliever, such as acetaminophen, can also help it function better. Do not drink too much just because caffeine withdrawal can lead to one’s own headache.
One of the simplest ways to reduce the frequency and severity of headaches is to engage in physical activity.
For example, a study in 91 people found that 40 minutes of indoor cycling three times per week was more effective than relaxation techniques in reducing the frequency of headaches.
Another large study, including more than 92,000 people, showed that low levels of physical activity were clearly associated with increased risk of headache
There are many ways to increase your level of activity, but one of the easiest ways is to increase the number of steps you take throughout the day.
Not to Chew
Chewing gum can hurt not only your jaw but also your head. The same is true for chewing your nails, lips, inside, or things like your cheeks or pens. Avoid crunchy and sticky foods, and make sure you take small bites. If you grind your teeth at night, ask your dentist about mouth guards. This can control your morning headache.
